Sur la page précédente de Bike Forum, encore des erreurs, corrigées par "iab" And for Jesper, Again, serendipitiously, I noticed and complained that Juvela post my pictures on Bike Forum without asking my consent, without listing the origin... Nothing. I've read Bruno BDUC asking him on the Cabe forum to list the origin of each pictures and not with a loose linK. However, I don't read any aknowledgement from Juvela Did he got the message?

Hello Munny, I do not use "Bikeforum". I can post on "TheCABE" and say something to "Juvela", he is paaionate about the topic, but needs to censor himself, and provide credits. I understand your ire! I have found my fotos posted elsewhere with no acknowledgement of their origin; I rarely post other's material; just provide links for those wanting to research, since I am no expert! I am now starting an account where my fotos will have a "watermark" on them in the future. I saw your post on "The CABE", thank you! I never assumed anything was original to that frame other than (hoping) the derailleur, bar/stem, and brakes due to wear of parts. Nor do I assume that what others post is accurate beyond my own knowledge and research unless providing some evidence and provenance regarding their statements; something which you and others on this site have done without making assumptions (Thank you!). The drive sprocket seemed out of place for the bike, but I was trying to determine manufacturer and age of parts to preserve some historical accuracy. I have not found a set of rims that are more appropriate. Take care, Jesper

Hi Jesper,
Please ensure Juvela that if he had mentionned me the usage of my pictures, I'd likely have agreed. However, probably not for the FB post on Bike Forum, for a very specific reason.
There are still plenty of FB hubs arround and the rarity drives their value. Therefore, I don't see the point of mass reproduction, (same for the PRIOR hubs interpretation), other than the producer benefits.
Juvela posted on Bike Forum, on this "let's restart the FB hubs production" my picture of a 1937 dated hib cone. But did so without any explaination and therefore the context is lost.
For you bike, I was anyway extremelly surprised to see this Belgian Vita chain on your Baggi. Vita was a lost name and while I had a bike with "Super Vita" derailleurs in my collection for a couple of years, it was only recently that all the parts of the Vita puzzle came together. This is explained in our documentation section, for which you can request access. I don't believe that anybody else had seen Vita parts. Hence their rarity.
I'd still encourage you to remove the "cassette" from the wheel so that you can see if there is a name on the back side.
As for rims, on this Baggi bike, unless somebody disagree here, it would be very likely that the bike used tubular wooden rims. You can still see originals NOS pairs of rims appearing for sale from time to time. Pay attention that they can be fractured or eaten by insects (little holes). I still prefer NOS ones on modern Italian continuation. The main difficulty with wooden rims is to be able to lace them. They requires additional skills and long nipples of the same gauge as the spokes - far from easy
Others might have another alternative idea for the rims
Regards

For you bike, I was anyway extremelly surprised to see this Belgian Vita chain on your Baggi.

I have verified the year of this frame as 1936, and possibly 1935. I contacted the original owner whose parents bought it for him in 1936. I am in the process of finding out which parts (if any) have been replaced through the years.
Take care,
Jesper
Munny, I contacted the CABE, and made a comment to their administrator about the photo credits. I do not know what his final response is to Juvela regarding that issue.

I have identified the chain wheel as Fonlupt and the cranks as Derwis. Original parts from 1935/36.
